چکیده

In this paper, the concept of fraction tree is introduced. This has profound consequences both in mathematical sub-disciplines and other branches science technology. we shall witness connection with that Fibonacci sequence relate terms continued fractions.

Continued Fractions, Fibonacci Numbers, and Some Classes of Irrational Numbers

In this paper we define an equivalence relation on the set of positive irrational numbers less than 1. The relation is defined by means of continued fractions. Equivalence classes under this relation are determined by the places of some elements equal to 1 (called essential 1’s) in the continued fraction expansion of numbers. Analysis of suprema of all equivalence classes leads to a solution wh...

Period Lengths of Continued Fractions Involving Fibonacci Numbers

For given nonsquare positive integers C ≡ 5(mod 8), we investigate families {Dk(X)}k∈N of integral polynomials of the form Dk(X) = AkX +2BkX+C where (Bk/2)−(Ak/2)C = 4, and show that the period length of the simple continued fraction expansion of (1+ √ Dk(X))/2 is a multiple of k, and independent ofX. For each member of the families involved, we show how to easily determine the fundamental unit...

Nested Intervals Tree Encoding with Continued Fractions

Tree encodings methods themselves can be split into 2 groups: • Materialized Path • Nested Sets Materialized Path is nearly ubiquitous encoding, where each tree node is labeled with the path from the node to the root. UNIX global filenames is well known showcase for this idea. Materialized path could be either represented as character string of unique sibling identifiers (concatenated with some...

Periodic Continued Fractions And

We investigate when an algebraic function of the form φ(λ) = −B(λ)+ √ R(λ) A(λ) , where R(λ) is a polynomial of odd degree N = 2g + 1 with coefficients in C, can be written as a periodic α-fraction of the form

Continued Fractions and Gaps

Given a continued fraction, we construct a certain function that is discontinuous at every rational number p/q. We call this discontinuity the “gap”. We then try to characterize the gap sizes, and find, to the first order, the size is 1/q2, and that, for higher orders, the gap appears to be perfectly ’randomly’ distributed, in that it is Cauchy-dense on the unit square, and thus, this function ...
